After a dispute over pigs, man sentenced to death for attempted murder

A dispute over free-roaming pigs in 2020 led to a North Carolina man’s conviction this week after a jury found him guilty of attempted murder, according to officials in North Carolina.

In October 2020, Kenneth McCall shot William McCall, age 39. This was after an argument regarding free-roaming porcs. District Attorney Ashley Hornsby Welch said that McCall had been shooting McCall.

William McCall claimed that the pigs were rooting out and damaging Pinhook Valley Campground. According to the DA he killed one of the pigs. KKTV.

In response to the shooting of the pig, Kenneth McCall shot into William McCall’s car, hitting him two times in the torso. According to the DA, it was a miracle William McCall survived. Fox Carolina reported.

A jury announced that Kenneth was guilty, rejecting the defense’s claim that he acted in self-defense.

Reports state that Kenneth McCall was sentenced this week by a judge. He will serve a minimum of 23 and maximum of 30 years imprisonment.
