According to Brit women, there are positives to the menopause. They say they have a better sex experience and feel more confident.

Women are more confident and have less periods.

One poll of 1,000 women who have gone through or are going through menopause found that while it can be seen as a challenge, 34% never felt more free after it ended.

Additional benefits include a fresh lease on life and a more stable hormonal environment.

Women also reported feeling more confident and true to themselves, with better sex and higher libidos.

Vitabiotics Menopace commissioned the research. Gabby Logan, their ambassador and TV broadcaster, stated that the research showed that although menopause can be difficult, many women find positives. It is important to communicate with family, friends and colleagues as much as possible.

“Of course, for many women, it’s not something they look forward to and it can be a very difficult time.

“But for many, it seems there are some positives, which often aren’t spoken about.

“It’s important to talk about and share the good experiences, to help those who are approaching menopause and those going through it, to show that there are positive upsides to be embraced as part of this natural life stage.”

According to the study, 13% of people polled believe that menopause is generally positive and 46% feel it has some good aspects.

Nearly 25% feel more at ease with who they are right now (23%) than they did at any time in their lives, and 18% are most confident.

16 percent even went so far as to state that they now feel they know who they are.

22% felt that their menopause experience was completely negative. This could be due to feeling tired (57%), sleeping more difficult (52%), weight gain (40%), or seeing it as an indication of your age (43%)

A further 13 percent of those surveyed feared the menopause.

While 43 per cent didn’t feel prepared for the change, blaming a lack of education on the subject (33 per cent), the menopause being taboo (24 per cent) and not having anyone they felt they could talk to (20 per cent).

Nearly three quarters of women feel that the menopause is also a difficult time. Yet, not enough attention is paid to the positive aspects.

As a result, 61 per cent think that it’s important to share your experiences during the menopause to help break down the taboo.

The study, commissioned via OnePoll, also found nearly one in five (17 per cent) didn’t tell anyone they were going through the menopause.

However, 57% said it was more rewarding to be able discuss with others.

Others found that their partner (26%), friends who are going through the same thing (21%), and celebrities openly discussing it (12%) made it easier.
