A new Netflix miniseries has soared to the top of charts

There are many movies and original shows on Netflix, so there will be some that fall through the cracks. However, while many TV shows fail to get the attention they deserve and some are overlooked, there are others that make an impact. Look no further than Squid GameThis was earlier in the year. Although it could take a while before any Korean show is a major hit, there’s a new mystery series on Netflix called Stay CloseWithin days of its debut, it has risen to the top of the charts.

Stay CloseNetflix is streaming it now

Netflix signed a multi-million-dollar deal in 2018 with Harlan Coben. Coben has written many thrillers and mysteries over his career. Many of these have been adapted. Stay Close is the fifth series based on Coben’s work that Netflix has produced under the deal. Coben is also a producer. Stay CloseAs he was before, The Stranger, The Woods, The InnocentAnd Gone for Good.

Is it worth streaming?

It is thrilling to watch an undiscovered show rise up the Netflix top 10, but popularity does not necessarily mean quality. In the case Of Stay Close, which premiered on December 31st, there aren’t many reviews online yet. The one from our sister website is available. IndieWireIt is not inspiring enough:

There’s more tension in Alfred Hitchcock’s single location three-hander “Rope” (1948), or Roman Polanski’s adaptation of Ariel Dorfman’s play “Death and the Maiden”(1994), Than “Stay Close”You can get rid of the dangling threads and tiring cliffhangers that are scattered over an eight-episode period.

You might be able to find something else, although your mileage may vary. Of course, if you’ve already binged everything else, it might be worth a shot.
