William ‘Poogie’Hart, Lead Singer for Delfonics, Died at 77

William “Poogie”Hart, the Grammy Award-winning leader singer of soul group The Delfonics was dead. He was 77.

Hart’s son Hadi told TMZHart, his father, was experiencing difficulty breathing. Hart died on Thursday after complications from surgery.

Hart led The Delfonics during the 1970s Philadelphian soul scene. Their songs “Didnt I (Blow Your Mind This Time),” “La La (Means I Love You),” “Ready or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love)”Many others also ruled FM radio. Thom Bell, producer of FM radio, co-wrote many songs together with Hart. His high falsetto voice was a big draw.

Wilbert, his brother, co-founded the group that was originally called the Orphonics. The group was completed by Randy Cain and Major Harris, who were also singers.
