Jordan Cashmyer, who was a teenager when he appeared on MTVReality TV Show“16 and Pregnant”in 2014, has died at age 27, her representative confirmed.
USA TODAY received confirmation from the Maryland Department of Health Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirming that Cashmyer died Friday, just 10 days following her 27th birthday. The cause of her death is still unknown.
“This has been a very sad couple of days,”Representative Howard Wood informed USA TODAY Monday via email that he called Cashmyer to inform him. “sweet, caring and good hearted person. I’m honored to have been able to know and work with Jordan for many years and wish life would have been kinder to her. I hope she is in a better place.”
Cashmyer’s Episode of “16 and Pregnant,”The first MTV program, which aired in summer 2014, featured her struggles with homelessness and her then-boyfriend Derek Taylor. According to MTV’s announcement, Cashmyer would have a daughter, Genevieve Shae Taylor. She was born March 7, 2014. Last year, she gave birth to Lyla, her second child.

Cashmyer wasn’t the first “16 and Pregnant”Untimely death for alumnus. Season 2 alum Valerie FairmanShe was 23 years old when she was found dead in Pennsylvania in 2016. Fairman’s segment, which aired for the first time in 2010, followed her pregnancy and Nevaeh (who was 7 at her death).
