2 of the newest Netflix series currently are the biggest in the entire world.

The Netflix series is thematically rich. Keep Your BreathingAnd The Sandman couldn’t be more different. The first is a simple drama about a New York lawyer who loses her plane and ends up stranded on the Canadian frontier. The second is a fantasy tale written by Neil Gaiman and brings to life his DC Comics series.

These two series have premiered on Netflix within the last two weeks, which is the common thread. Keep Your BreathingAt the end of July, The SandmanFriday, August 5. What’s more, both series in spite of their recency have already shot all the way to the top of the Top 10 Netflix series global streaming list.

This week’s top 10 Netflix series

Netflix’s latest set of four charts covers the 7-day period ended August 7. They were published on Tuesday, August 9. The four charts include two for English-language content, which includes movies and Netflix series. Then there are two more for non-English movies.

These charts, we should reiterate, cover global viewing activity across Netflix’s entire customer base. Inside the Netflix app each day, for comparison, you’ll also see a row of Top 10 movies and TV shows. But, for those of us in the US, that’s purely a domestic-focused ranking.

Everyone is watching

In the #1And #2 spots on this week’s global ranking of the top English-language Netflix series worldwide, meanwhile, we have The Sandman and Keep Your Breathing, respectively.

The complete list is at the end of this post. What’s also noteworthy here, by the way, is the number of hours viewed for each of those two shows. These two Netflix series became global hits almost instantly after their release. They were watched more than 124 million times in a single week, according to Netflix Top 10 data.
