A man in his 20s has died, and two others were injured in a shooting in North London.
According to the Met, it occurred just after 10.30 pm last evening in Green Lanes, Wood Green.
There have been no arrests.
Armed police and paramedics were sent to the scene. A man in his early 20s died.
An additional man, aged 24, was taken to hospital by paramedics. He claimed that he had been shot in the same incident.
Police were called to Edmonton, where a man claimed he was shot.
The Met said: “Police were called at 22:31hrs on Tuesday, 21 September to reports of a man shot on Green Lanes, close to the junction with West Green Road, N8.
“Officers, including firearms officers, attended with the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and the London Air Ambulance.
“Despite their efforts, the man – believed to be aged in his early 20s [Victim 1] – was pronounced dead at the scene at 22:56hrs.
“Officers are working to contact his next of kin. However, formal identification has not occurred.
“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.”
According to the statement, two additional men were also injured in non-life-threatening incidents.
It said: “Police were called again shortly before 23:00hrs to a north London hospital after a 24-year-old man [Victim 2] self-presented with gunshot injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“Police subsequently received a call to a residential address in the Edmonton area after a man, aged in his 20s [Victim 3], reported that he had been shot whilst in the Green Lanes area. The LAS and officers responded to the call. The man was then taken to an east London hospital. The injuries sustained by the man are not life-threatening.
“At this early stage, it is believed that Victim 3 was shot as he was riding past the earlier shooting.
“Specialist Crime Command detectives were informed. Numerous crime scene investigations are underway.
“There have been no arrests, and inquiries continue. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 8093/21SEP.”
