After the runaway success of 2020’s Enola Holmes, Millie Bobby Brown returns to Netflix for the long-awaited sequel, Enola Holmes 2.

The first Enola Holmes film became one of Netflix’s biggest-ever success stories when it released in September 2020, going on to become the streaming service’s seventh most-viewed original film of all time with 77 million households tuning in to watch.

Unsurprisingly, that success quickly led to a sequel being quickly ordered up and after an agonizing two-year wait, Enola Holmes 2 is finally due to land on Netflix – but when exactly is the film’s release time for fans who want to watch as soon as possible?

Enola Holmes has become a detective-for hire, just like her brother Sherlock.

After opening her own agency, Enola discovers that life as a female detective isn’t as easy or as adventurous as she had first hoped but as she is about to shut up shop, she receives a visit from a penniless matchstick girl who want Enola’s help in finding her missing sister.

As Enola’s first official job, she’s excited to get started but this case proves to be far more puzzling than first thought and the young Holmes is dragged into a dangerous new world – from London’s grimy factories and colorful music houses, to the highest echelons of society and even 221B Baker Street itself.

What was the story of the first film?

Fans were first introduced to Millie Bobby Brown’s take on Enola Holmes in Netflix’s 2020 film which saw the titular character embark on solving her first-ever mystery.

Enola, the youngest sibling of the famed Holmes family was awakened on her 16th birthday.^Thbirthday to discover her mother had vanished, but had left a trail that led to her location.

With her older brothers, Sherlock and Mycroft, wanting to send her to finishing school, Enola escaped to follow her mother’s trail to London, partnering up with the young Viscount Tewksbury along the way, who himself was being hunted.

After several adventurous exploits in London, which saw Enola foil a plot from Tewksbury’s scheming grandmother, the young Holmes finally caught up to her mother who was revealed to be a member of a secretive suffragette group while her older brother Sherlock agreed to take Enola under his wing.
