A new documentary titled “Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers” is set to air on BBC One in the UK on September 22. A number of royal family members participated in the TV special and shared their most fond memories of the Duke. According to the Independent, Prince William spoke about his grandfather’s decision to give up his career in the Navy when his wife became the queen. “One of the things I do admire him for is that he gave up a very successful military career to be the Queen’s consort and support her and to go into service and duty in a different way,” William stated.
“It was very much a ‘man’s world’ back then so for a man to give up his career to support a woman –- albeit a queen -– was still quite a big step,” William also added (via The Independent). The documentary was also filmed by other members of the family, such as Prince Harry, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, and Prince Charles.
