A mum has been called a “savage” for her reaction to her daughter’s surprise pregnancy reveal..
TikTok user “Jackie Chann” kept her pregnancy news secret until she decided to tell their parents, who currently live in Thailand, by post.
She asked her parents to open the envelope and they got on a video chat.
In the clip, the dad reads from the card that reads: “A little card with a big surprise” and underneath it is a golden heart.”
He follows the instruction to scratch to reveal and shows Jackie: “It reads “you’re”. Is that enough?
As he continues to scratch off the rest, Jackie’s mum remains silent and puts her hand on the chin with no reaction.
The father is beaming with a smile as he tells his wife: “She’s pregnant, she’s pregnant. Your daughter is having a baby.”
When it’s finished, he holds up the card and shows the message – “You’re going to be a nanny and grandad again.”
He gives a thumbs up to Jackie and says: “Well done!”
Jackie’s mum, though, looks uninterested and keeps her hand on her chin. She faintly answers “no” when her husband shakes her shoulder and asks: “She is pregnant. Are you happy?”
The video left viewers surprised as many noticed the mum’s reaction.
One commented: “Your mum did not pass the vibe check. But your dad’s ‘well done’ – haha I laughed out loud.”
A second-guessed: “Mum doesn’t want to be on the baby-sitting list.”
“Maybe she is upset because she lives there?” A third question was asked.
Jackie said her mum’s reaction is a “savage banter”.
“She told the whole village in excitement after this video,” She explained.
“She’s gutted. They’re in a lockdown at the moment in Thailand so they can’t come over and she gets upset about it because she can’t see her grandson.”
