Google Unveils Game-Changing Feature for Android Users

Google is finally letting Android users edit their text messages after sending them. This new feature is part of a sweeping upgrade that adds a long list of perks to your Android phone.

Revolutionize Messaging with Android Edit Feature

The big new feature that Google has rolled out is the ability to edit texts send via Google Messages. Now, users can simply tap and hold on an RCS message that they’ve sent. According to Google, this feature allows users to “edit typos, add missing words, or clarify what you mean.” However, it’s crucial to note that edits can only be made within the first 15 minutes after a message is sent. This feature mirrors a similar one that was included in Apple’s iOS 16 update for iPhone owners.

Exciting Additional Features

Editing texts isn’t the only upgrade that comes with this update. Google is also introducing Instant Hotspot, which enables quick connectivity between your Android tablet or Chromebook to your phone’s hotspot with just a single tap. This eliminates the need to manually input your password each time you want to join your own network.

Another noteworthy feature allows users to easily switch devices during Google Meet calls. Google explained that users can seamlessly move between their Android phone, tablet, or web browser with a simple tap on the Cast icon. Additionally, new Emoji Kitchen sticker combinations are being introduced for sharing with friends via Gboard.

Moreover, a Google Home Favorites widget can now be added to your phone’s home screen for quick access. This assists users in managing and controlling their smart home devices, such as connected lightbulbs or thermostats.

Digital Car Key Upgrade

Google is also enhancing its digital car key feature, which permits users to unlock, lock, and even start their car using their smartphone. Furthermore, users can securely share their key with friends and family. This feature currently supports select MINI car models and will soon expand to include Mercedes-Benz and Polestar vehicles.

Enhanced Wear OS Functionality

For Wear OS smartwatch users, Google is introducing several bonus features. Users can now personalize their smartwatch with a Google Home favorites tile and complication. This upgrade offers a similar experience to that on Android phones, enabling users to view and control smart home devices conveniently from their wrist.

Lastly, users in the U.S. and Germany will soon be able to make payments from their wrists using Wear OS watches. By utilizing PayPal on Google Wallet, users can easily pay for items directly from their smartwatch, similar to the existing Apple Pay feature on the Apple Watch.
