PLAYSTATION is slashing prices on some of the best PS4 and PS5 games this week as the Days of Play sale kicks off. Fans can find great deals on digital games, physical copies, hardware, accessories, and PS Plus subscriptions.
PS5 is on sale at £40 / $50 off
Those who are still looking to save on a PlayStation 5 console can get one for £40 / $50 off the usual price of the digital-only and disc-based versions. The Digital Edition PS5 is selling for £349.99 / $399.99, while the Standard Edition, which allows you to play physical copies of games and movies, costs £439.99 / $449.99 right now. Most consoles on the market are the more recent PS5 slim model, which is less bulky than the original PS5. The slim model is also modular, which allows players to buy the slightly cheaper digital-only variant first and add a disc drive later. A downside to the slim model is that it does not come with a vertical stand, so if you want to place your PS5 upright, you will have to buy that accessory separately.

PlayStation’s latest VR headset for the PS5 is available at a discount of £90 / $100 during the Days of Play sale. Players can purchase PS VR2 for £439.99 / $449.99, and the bundle with Horizon Call of the Mountain now costs £479.99 / $499.99. PS VR2 has had a rocky launch and first year, but recently Sony announced it would be allowing the PS5 headset to work with PCs later this year. When this happens, it would definitely increase the headset’s value and the number of games available to play.
Deals on PS accessories, PS Plus, and merch
Days of Play also includes deals on accessories for Sony’s consoles, such as a deal on DualSense controllers for the PS5 in various colors, which are now selling for £49.99 instead of the usual £64.99. Players who want to sign up for PS Plus can also get up to 30% off on Sony’s subscription service if they buy 12 months, depending on the tier they choose. Existing PS Plus members are less fortunate as they can save up to 30% off the remainder of their current plan only if they upgrade to a higher tier. There’s also a 20% discount on select merch if purchased through the PlayStation Gear online store. PlayStation owners will have until June 12 to grab these deals, as this is when 2024’s Days of Play ends.
