UK weather – Brits enjoy 32C scorcher, making UK hotter than HAWAII

Today’s scorching 32C temperatures have made the UK even hotter for BRITS, who are enjoying it.

According to the Met Office in London, mercury rose to 32C today in Northolt.

The scorching heat dwarfed tropical Hawaii’s temperature of 29C today.

Some parts of the country were even hotter than top beaches like the Maldives, Jamaica and the Bahamas.

The UK’s current record high for 2022 stands at 32.7C. It was set at Heathrow in June 17th.

Brits have been urged to look out for the most vulnerable this week as an extreme heat health warning was issued across the country.

A level three amber alert has been activated, which indicates that temperatures will likely have a significant impact on public life.

According to the Met Office, the warning will be in effect from Sunday at midnight to Monday at 11.59pm. Temperatures are expected to rise into the 30s.

Parents have been warned to keep children safe in the scorching sun and stop them undertaking “vigorous physical activity.”

And one children’s hospital has issued advice to wear sun cream and light-coloured clothing and stay in the shade.

Greg Dewhurst, Met Office forecaster, said that the UK was affected by a high-pressure system that brought about severe weather. “lots of sunshine, particularly in England and Wales”.

He stated, “In Scotland or Northern Ireland it will become somewhat cloudy at times with thick clouds moving in the north-west, possibly even bringing some rain.”

“But it will be dry and sunny for most of you, well into high 20s in the morning with central, south, and eastern parts England.

“It will also be very warm overnight going into Tuesday, remaining in the low 20s in cities, so many may experience an uncomfortable night.”

The heatwave is predicted to continue into the week, with the mercury set to soar above 30C, potentially seeing some of the warmest temperatures of the year.

It comes as people have been warned to expect delays to train journeys this week thanks to the scorching weather.

And Brits have also been urged to ration water with temperatures due to hit glorious highs over this week.

The hot spell will end by the middle of the week. A cold front is expected.
