WHAT WAS APRIL JACE?

April was an American track-and-field athlete. Before her death, she worked as a counselor for Biola University in La Mirada. April was passionate about helping families and students develop a better work ethic. This earned her the respect and love of her coworkers.

In 2003, April got married to Michael. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, she used her Facebook page to post photos of her family and friends.

April tied the knot with Michael in 2003, and to celebrate their tenth anniversary in 2013; she took to her Facebook page to share snaps of her friends, family, and husband.

According to her Facebook, she and her actor husband would’ve celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary. However, her life was tragically cut short one month prior.

WHAT HAPPENED IN APRIL?

April, who was found dead with bullet wounds to her upper body at her South Los Angeles home on May 19, 2014, will be remembered forever. The following morning, Michael was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Before his arrest, Michael had called the police to report that he had fatally shot his wife. Reports had it that the couple’s neighbors heard a heated argument between the pair followed by the sound of gunfire.

According to the Los Angeles Police department, the couple’s children, eight and five years old, were present at the murder scene.

According to police, domestic violence was the motive behind the murder. Michael was arrested on the night of the murder, and he was brought before the court the next day.
