Either he’s throwing a fit after Georgie rejects his offer to be the best man and is not attending the wedding as a form of retaliation. Or, in a surprising turn, he’s actually the one officiating the wedding and just can’t be seen because he’s behind the desk. It certainly would be a fun twist for the episode, but only time will tell why Sheldon pulls a disappearing act.

One character who is definitely celebrating Georgie’s big day is his father. In the promo picture, George (Lance Barber) looks overcome with emotion as he watches his eldest son get married. This moment is all the more emotional as “Young Sheldon” fans know his death is imminent. Executive producer Steve Holland confirmed George will die before the end of “Young Sheldon” Season 7. But while it will be a very tragic event for fans, Barber feels lucky to have been able to stick around on “Young Sheldon” for so long since his death was predetermined by “The Big Bang Theory.” “I had fingers crossed from the beginning … that I would make it to the end whenever that came … I had the luxury of being emotionally prepared for this from day one … To be remembered that way is a big deal for me to see that to fruition,” he said at the TCAs (via Screen Rant). Sadly, his borrowed time is about to be up, as George dies when Sheldon is 14 and the teenage genius has a birthday on the horizon.
