Terri Irwin Will Not Seek Love Again After Steve Irwin’s Death: ‘I Totally Got My Happily Ever After’

American-Australian conservationist Terri Irwin, widow of “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, made a heartfelt declaration that she will not pursue love again following the tragic passing of her husband in 2006. In an interview with Us Weekly ahead of the annual Steve Irwin Gala, Terri, who is now 59 years old, expressed, “I totally got my happily ever after.”

Terri’s Loyalty to Steve Irwin

Terri openly shared that when it came to the possibility of dating again, her loyalty to her late husband remained steadfast. She highlighted the uniqueness of Steve, saying, “While there are plenty of amazing men out there, can anyone compare to Steve Irwin? I just can’t. I might appreciate your love for libraries and the Dewey Decimal System, but I need to be out there wrestling crocodiles. Sorry, I’m out.”

The Legacy of Steve Irwin

Nicknamed “The Crocodile Hunter” due to their popular 1990s TV show, Steve tragically passed away at the age of 44 after being struck in the chest by a stingray barb while filming in the Great Barrier Reef. Together, Steve and Terri raised two children: Bindi Irwin, 25, and Robert Irwin, 20.

Remaining Single but Helping Others Find Love

Despite her decision to remain single, Terri expressed her willingness to support others in their quest for love. When asked about her thoughts on the show The Golden Bachelor, she revealed her interest in joining as a producer rather than a participant.

Reflecting on Their Marriage and Moving Forward

Looking back on her cherished 14-year marriage to Steve, Terri maintained that their bond was one-of-a-kind. She stated, “I had the most incredible marriage for 14 years, and I am at peace with the person I see when I look in the mirror. So, I am content being on my own now. While I miss Steve deeply, I am not lonely, and I consider myself very fortunate.”

Honoring Steve’s Memory

Terri emphasized that if Steve were still with them today, he would be immensely proud of both her and their children for carrying on his legacy and continuing his conservation work. She recounted a poignant moment when Steve expressed the importance of having children to carry on their mission of wildlife preservation.

In November, the Irwin family paid heartfelt tributes to Steve on Instagram in honor of Steve Irwin Day. Bindi shared a touching post summing up her father’s impact on the world, while Robert spoke of Steve’s lasting passion and enthusiasm for wildlife conservation.
