Salman Rushdie On “Road To Recovery,”His Agent says

Author Salman Rushdie was removed from his ventilator. He is now on the long road to recovery from his stabbing injuries.

“The road to recovery has begun,”Andrew Wylie wrote a message to the New York Times. “It will be long; the injuries are severe, but his condition is headed in the right direction.”

Rushdie sustained a severe liver injury and could lose an eye as a result of the stabbing attack on Rushdie last week. Rushdie was attacked by an Iranian sympathizer who is now in police custody.

Hadi Matar (24 years old) attacked the Chautauqua Institution. It is a non-profit education and retreat center. He is currently being held without bail.

Rushdie is currently serving a life sentence for his novel since 1989. The Satanic VersesIran’s Ayatollah Khomeini issued the fatwa, saying the novel insulted Islam and offering a bounty of $3 million for its fulfillment of the death sentence.
