British Airways Partners with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers to Offer Scenic Airport Transfer

In a unique and innovative move, British Airways has teamed up with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers to provide passengers with a picturesque journey to the airport, complete with free drinks and discounted ticket prices. This partnership promises to offer travelers a more memorable and enjoyable way of reaching their next flight.

Scenic Boat Ride to London City Airport

Flying out of London City Airport? Now you can opt for a ferry ride from one of the 24 piers located between Putney Pier in the west and Barking Riverside in the east. Passengers can even disembark at Royal Wharf Pier and conveniently make their way to the airport while taking in stunning views of iconic London landmarks such as Big Ben, The London Eye, The Shard, and The Cutty Sark.

Discounted Ticket Prices and Complimentary Drinks

Tickets for this unique travel experience start as low as £4.20 per person within the East Zone or £7.69 from central London. What’s more, British Airways customers flying on the same day as their ferry journey and booking in advance can take advantage of special discounts. Additionally, passengers can enjoy a complimentary hot drink at the onboard cafe by simply showing their boarding pass.

Enhancing the London Experience

Tom Stoddart, CEO of BA Cityflyer, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Not only is flying from London City a convenient and quick way to travel, but it allows our customers to really embrace our brilliant city. With views of the Canary Wharf skyline and the River Thames, it’s an airport like no other and working with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers helps us to extend the London experience beyond the airport.”

Expanding Travel Opportunities

The introduction of this ferry service follows BA’s expansion of the Cityflyer service last year to include departures from Stansted Airport in Essex. Flights from the BA subsidiary, which had been suspended due to the pandemic, resumed in May 2024. Passengers can look forward to BA CityFlyer flights to popular destinations such as Nice, Florence, and Ibiza on weekends. With operations now spanning four London airports, travelers have more options than ever before for exploring the world.

Exploring Beyond London

In addition to the convenience of flights from multiple London airports, British Airways travelers can now also fly from Southampton Airport in Eastleigh to destinations like Bergerac and Majorca this summer. This expanded network of routes offers passengers a wider range of travel possibilities and the chance to discover new and exciting destinations.

By leveraging this unique partnership with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, British Airways is not only enhancing the travel experience for its passengers but also showcasing the beauty of London from a whole new perspective. With discounted fares, free drinks, and the opportunity to explore iconic landmarks along the way, this exciting collaboration is set to elevate airport transfers to new heights.
