A lawyer for Ricky Martin refutes disturbing claims that Ricky Martin abused his nephew. “not only untrue”But “disgusting.”
Martin was issued a restraining notice in Puerto Rico in July for domestic abuse. Friday TMZ reported that the singer’s brother, Eric Martin, identified the alleged victim as Martin’s 21-year-old nephew, according to the Spanish news site Marca. However, attorney Martin Singer asserts that Martin’s nephew is “struggling with deep mental health challenges.”
“Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew,”Singer stated that he was going to release a statement. Variety. “The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts.”
The petitioner was not identified when the restraining orders were presented on July 2. Puerto Rican outlet El Vocero reportedMartin was allegedly involved in the alleged action from a woman he had dated for seven years. At the time, the petitioner stated that Martin had denied the separation and had been seen several times near their home.
According to TMZ Martin will appear in court on July 21st. A judge will decide whether the restraining orders should be kept in force or terminated.
