Princess Beatrice can't wait to introduce daughter to big brother as royals 'delighted'

Princess Beatrice and her husband are “looking forward” to introducing their newborn daughter to her big brother.

The Queen’s granddaughter has welcomed her first child with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The Princess gave birth at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals.

Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

“The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces.

“The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news.

“The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.

“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple is looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf.”

Beatrice, 33, was the stepmother to Wolfie Mapelli Mozzi, Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s son from his relationship with Dara.

The baby, 11th in line for the throne is the 12th great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth. It is also the second child born since the death of Duke of Edinburgh in June, when Lili, the Sussexes’ girl, arrived.

After their ceremony was delayed by the pandemic, the queen and Philip attended a secret lockdown marriage of the princess and Mr Mapelli Mozzi, a millionaire property tycoon.

Beatrice is the Duke and Duchess of York’s eldest child. The baby is the Yorks’ second grandchild.

In a tweet from her official Twitter account, Beatrice said she was “delighted” to “share the news of the safe arrival” of the couple’s
daughter, adding: “Thank you to the midwife team and everyone at the hospital for their wonderful care.”
