The new LGBTQ romcom Red, White and Royal Blue has got fans talking about its cast members’ Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez’s sexuality as the former plays a gay role and the latter a bisexual character.
Amazon Prime Video has brought us just what we needed – an LGBTQ romcom! Its new Red, White and Royal Blue stars two of Hollywood‘s latest hunks who play each other’s love interest. Nicholas Galitzine is a British actor who has been praised for roles such as Cinderella, Purple Hearts. Taylor Zakhar Perez rose to prominence after his roles in The Kissing Booth 3 and 2.

Nicholas, who is 28 years old, has never revealed his sexuality in the media nor to his fans. Nicholas, who is a star with many prominent roles under his belt, keeps his private life private. He’s played gay roles many times in his movies.
Nicholas played a closed-mouthed gay rugby athlete Conor Masters, in the 2016 film Handsome Devil. He played the bisexual Timmy Andrews in his 2020 movie The Craft: Legacy. Furthermore, in the drama series Mary & George (2023) he portrays a queer character and stars opposite beloved actress Julianne Moore.

Taylor too hasn’t publicly discussed his sexuality. However he talked at length about the ‘enormous’ pressure he felt while playing Alex’s role in Red, White and Royal Blue.

“From the beginning, there was an enormous weight on my shoulders, making sure that we were accurate with representation and accurate with character portrayal,” he said. During filming, he said he thought of the LGBTQ Community.
Talking about his character’s arc in the film, Taylor revealead, “Alex’s arc as a character as somebody that has only dated women in the past—maybe a couple guy hookups—to not liking Henry to getting kissed by Henry and then having a relationship. It’s just like, excuse me, the different degrees of comfort that Alex starts to have, this needs to be represented in in a proper way.”
