She said: “It’s very odd. For example, I had a crumpet with jam on it and it tasted like parsnips.”

Belle of Ramsgate in Kent used to hate chocolate and cakes but love healthy food.

She says that fruits and salads taste more like salt.

The former NHS exercise educator had a 12-hour op at London’s King’s College Hospital in 2020 to remove a rare tumour.

She is now able to move around with a frame.

She said: “I’d never ever eaten a McDonald’s or a chicken McNugget but it’s the first thing I wanted.

“What’s that about?

“It was absolutely lovely.
