Mother Criticised On Son’s party after inviting Everyone In class Excluding bully!

One mum was shocked to receive a slew of abuse from a fellow parent after she refused entry to one of the boys in her son’s classroom after he had previously bullied him

Birthday parties for children can be surprisingly political – especially when parents don’t simply invite the entire class.

It’s supposed to be fun, not awkward, at the end of it all.

A mum refused entry to her son’s classmate because he had bullied her in the past. This caused a lot of people to be divided.

Many people believed it was the right decision, as she was trying to protect her son and make it a happy day.

But others felt she’d overreacted – and the son’s aunt let her know in no uncertain terms that she felt she had acted like an “a**hole.”

The baffled mum took to Reddit on the Am I the A****** thread, to see if she had acted unreasonably.

Her son is just eight years old and invited his class, along with his friend Kyle, to his house for a party.

However, the mom didn’t realize that Josh was a cousin. Josh is another student who has been harping on her son at school.

It was awkward when Josh and Kyle showed up uninvited. The mum had to quickly make a decision.

She wrote: “Josh has been s***** to my son for a while now. The poor kid has gone through a lot. His baby sister died, then his dad leaves him and his mom.

“My son has a baby brother and he has both me and my husband (his dad) still in the one home.

“So he has become a target for Josh’s hurt and anger. I spoke to the teacher and she said she was doing everything to correct Josh and protect my son.

“Then in May, their school decided to test outgoing back in-person learning all day. My son was a bit rude to Josh while he was there.”

So when Josh arrived – the mum decided he wasn’t allowed to attend the party.

“Kyle’s mom was able to attend the party with Josh on Saturday. I was puzzled. I was unsure what was happening.

“She explained he was her nephew, etc, etc, and she was hoping it would help everyone if he was included since everything going on.

“I replied no. He was not invited, and he treated my son differently than I did. She argued with my husband, but I remained firm.

“She and I got along well before this but now she’s saying I was an a**hole to a little boy and should have shown kindness and understanding.

“When Josh arrived at our home, my son was a bit scared and asked if Josh was staying. He was relieved that he wasn’t.”

On Reddit, a lot of people agreed with the mum’s stance.

One wrote: “Your son is not responsible for Josh’s problems nor is he responsible to take the brunt of them.”

Another added: “It’s astonishingly cruel to show up to a birthday party with the birthday person’s bully in tow.

“This woman knew what her nephew had been doing to your son. This was not about Josh. This was your son’s day and you did the right thing.”
