Marvel Teased A Spider-Man Sequel No One Wanted

Spider-Man’s comics have always been some of the most colorful and fun Marvel Comics ever produced. But the superhero has also had some great darker stories, such as “Kraven’s Last Hunt”, or his struggles with the suit of symbiotes that ultimately spawned Venom. “Spider-Man: Reign,” however, was one of Marvel’s biggest swings and misses at telling a more harrowing story starring Peter Parker. In the four-issue story, several characters died in a grim Marvel future. But none was more shocking than Mary Jane Watson’s death from cancer after having had sex.

The story revolves around a tragedy in which Spider-Man comes out from retirement and faces an authority regime of New York City. The story features Spider-Man’s villains such as the “Sinner Six”, elderly supervillains Kraven and Electro, Mysterio and other characters controlled by the corrupt mayor. Spider-Man defeats the Sinner Six at the end of this story and promises to come back to action following years in retirement. Marvel appears to have decided that the story should continue.

Marvel will reveal soon what the image represents. It will certainly be surprising if, as most people believe, “Spider-Man: Reign,” has been followed by a second film. Virtually no one wants to see more of this controversial storyline.
