Laura Poitras’ “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed”announced as the Centerpiece selection of the 60th New York Film Festival in September.

The “Citizenfour” director’s new documentary centers around famed New York photographer Nan Goldin, who became the public face of opposition to the Sackler family and their phamaceutical dynasty. Goldin was a victim of her own opioid addiction and took Sackler art institutions to task. She fought for destigmatization. With Goldin as narrator, the film dives into her difficult upbringing and her community’s fight against AIDS in the 1980s, among other aspects of her life story.

Film at Lincoln Center also announced today that Goldin will design the festival’s official poster, to be revealed at a later date.

Poitras has previously shown her documentary “Citizenfour”At the 2014 New York Film Festival. The Edward Snowden documentary won Best Documentary Feature at Academy Awards 2015. “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed”She has directed her first feature-length documentary in a decade. “Risk,”The 2016 film about Julian Assange.

Last week, Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise” was announced as the festival’s opening film. The film stars Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver. It will be shown in North America on September 30th, following its world premiere at Venice.

“All the Beauty and the Bloodshed”On Oct. 7, 2022, Alice Tully Hall will show the film.
