After one of their own was shot and killed, several showgirls posed with tourists to take photos in Las Vegas.
“We’re heartbroken. It’s a difficult job, you know. You never know what you’re going to confront. You work with partners to take care of each other,” Stephany Valencia said.
Maris DiGiovanni is the slain victim. She was a former teacher and earned her income by dressing up as a Vegas Strip showgirl.
DiGiovanni and other people reportedly stopped the knife-wielding male and he began attacking them with a butcher blade. Surveillance video shows that the suspect ran down the street just moments after eight people were stabbed. The alleged killer was caught by cops in a matter minutes.
Brent Allan Hallett (47-year-old Las Vegas man) was the other victim.
