Kanye West cancelled a second music festival days before his headlining set. Rolling Loud organizers announced that Sunday that the rapper would not perform at the Miami fest.

“We were looking forward to Ye headlining Rolling Loud Miami 2022. We spent months working with him and his team on the performance,”In a statement, Matt Zingle and Tariq Cherif stated that they were co-founders of the company. “Unfortunately, Ye has decided that he will no longer be performing. This is the first time a headliner has ever pulled off our show and though we don’t take it lightly, we wish him the best.”

In West’s place in the Friday night headlining slot at Hard Rock Stadium, organizers enlisted his Kids See Ghosts (and now-former) collaborator Kid Cudi. “We can’t wait to see what he has in store,”Cudi was added to the organizers.

As for Ye’s abrupt cancellation, Rolling Loud founder Cherif said in the comments of the fest’s announcement, “Tried to convince Ye to stay on the lineup but he wasn’t having it.”

Rolling Loud is West’s second fest of the year. He left it days before his headlining set at Coachella. The festival announced in April that West would not perform at that event, which took place 11 days before Coachella. As with Rolling Loud the rapper did no explanation for his decision to cancel. West was replaced at the California fest by the Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia.

West appeared to be revving up for a return to the stage last week when he made a surprise appearance at the Game’s Los Angeles show to briefly perform “Eazy.” That cameo marked West’s first performance since his Donda 2Miami, February 2, 2009: Release show
