Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, Yellowstone is arguably one of the biggest shows in recent memory and swiftly became a phenomenon when it premiered in 2018 starring Kevin Costner and more. Many have streamed it on Paramount+ since the platform launched but audiences have recently been given the opportunity to check it out on CBS, but is Yellowstone new on CBS tonight (09/24/23) and what time does it come on?
Is Yellowstone new on CBS tonight and what time?
Yellowstone is airing at 8 pm and 9 pm ET on Sunday, September 24th 2023 on CBS. However, it’s not new episodes premiering in either slot.
This continues the CBS debut of Yellowstone, and episode 1 premiered on Sunday, September 17th 2023. The installments airing tonight are season 1 episodes 2 and 3, Kill The Messenger and No Good Horses.
So, if you’ve already watched seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 part 1 then you won’t be missing any new installments with the Dutton family over on CBS.
Season 5 part 1 concluded in January 2023 but a premiere date for part 2 is yet to be officially confirmed.
‘It’ll be as long as it needs to be’
Paramount did previously announce that Yellowstone will be back in November 2023, although doubt has since been cast over this in the wake of the recent writers’ strike, for which Yellowstone creator Taylor has expressed his support.
While this means it’s unlikely to return until 2024, there is some silver lining.
Part 1 was made up of eight episodes with part 2 reported to conclude the series with six. However, Taylor told The Hollywood Reporter during an interview that the number of remaining installments could be expanded.
“If I think it takes 10 episodes to wrap it up, they’ll give me 10,” he reassured. “It’ll be as long as it needs to be.”
Yellowstone airs on CBS on Sundays at 8 pm ET.
