The Supreme Leader of Iran boasted about how the country was doing. “can now produce a nuclear bomb”This is a chilling warning for the West.

Kamal Kharrazi (senior adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei) has boasted to Qatari al Jazeera about how technically capable the Middle East country is of making a nuclear bomb.

However, he said that authorities were still undecided about whether or not to build one.

Kharrazi’s comments are a rare suggestion Iran might have an interest nuclear weapons. This is something Iran has long denied.

He said, “In just a few short days, we were capable of enriching uranium upto 60 percent and we can easily create 90 percent enriched uranium.

“Iran has the technical means to produce a nuclear bomb but there has been no decision by Iran to build one.”

Iran has already increased its oil enrichment to as high as 60 percent, well above the limit of 3.67% under Tehran’s 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers.

A nuclear bomb can be made from uranium that has been enriched to 90%.

Donald Trump, the former US President, renounced the nuclear agreement under which Iran had curtailed its uranium enrichment activities – potentially leading to nuke weapons – in return for economic sanctions relief.

Iran began violating the nuclear restrictions of the pact as a reaction to Washington’s withdrawal.

Iran’s intelligence minister stated last year that Western pressure could cause Tehran to seek nuclear arms. Khamenei had banned the development of these weapons in a fatwa (religious decree) in the early 2000s.

Iran has stated that it will only refine uranium for civilian purposes, and that violations of the international deal can be reversed if the United States lifts its sanctions and rejoins.

After 11 months’ of indirect talks between Tehran, Biden’s administration in Vienna, and Tehran, the basic outline of a revived agreement was reached in March.

However, talks fell apart over the obstacles posed by Tehran’s demand that Washington give assurances that no US president will abandon this deal in the same manner as Trump.

Biden cannot guarantee this, as the nuclear agreement is not a legally binding treaty but a political understanding.

Kharrazi said: “The United States has not provided guarantees on preserving the nuclear deal and this ruins the possibility of any agreement.”

Iran doesn’t recognize Israel and has threatened to attack Iranian nukes if diplomacy fails in its efforts to stop Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

Kharrazi stated that Iran would not negotiate its balistic missile program and regional policy as required by the West and its allies throughout the Middle East.

He said: “Any targeting of our security from neighbouring countries will be met with direct response to these countries and Israel.”

This comes just days after Israel warned Iran that it is dangerously close obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Prime minister Naftali Bennett warned the West must stand up to the growing threat of the regime becoming a nuclear power.
