The reality TV show has quickly become one of the most loved shows on British TV, but producers are now hoping to switch things up a bit by introducing people ‘who don’t want to be on telly.

Executive producer, Victoria Ray is in search of family and friends who don’t necessarily think trying to be funny, but just are without trying – much like fan favourites Jenny Newby, 53, and her best friend, Lee Riley, 53.

Lifting the lid on her preferences, the TV boss told The Daily Star: “We pick people who don’t want to be on telly.

“The ideal people are ones who don’t know that they’re funny. We like people who are charismatic, engaging and who don’t necessarily see themselves as TV personalities.”

In terms of making an impact on the show, Victoria explained that those ‘without a filter’ always flourish.

“It’s good when they have no filter because then they don’t second-guess themselves when they’re talking.

“We basically want people that you warm to and want to see in your living rooms.”

Gogglebox bosses are scrambling to find some new faces after the show lost three of its adored stars this year.

Much-loved cast member Pete McGarry died at the age of 71

Back in June, much-loved cast member Pete McGarry died at the age of 71.

Gogglebox viewers were left devastated by his tragic passing. Linda McGarry, his beloved wife, was not returning to the show without him.

Andrew Michael, 61, died last month in tragic circumstances.

Andrew’s grieving wife Carolyne and their children Alex and Louis have also decided not to continue the show without their father.

And fan favourite Marina Wingrove will also not be returning to the show after her dear best friend Mary Cook passed away last month at the age of 92.

Producers are now looking for new faces to win the hearts of the nation after these three tragic deaths.

Paige Deville and Sally Hayward, Paige’s mum, left the show to make way for a new family.

Paige decided to pull out of the show after she and her mum had an ‘irreversible’ row.

Lifting the lid on why she left, Paige told Birmingham Live: “There have been problems within the family and my mum was given an ultimatum.

“The decision means I have nothing to do with her now. I think the decision is irreversible. It is very sad but that’s life, unfortunately.”

Gogglebox continues Friday at 9 PM on Channel 4.
