Resident Evil 9 and Other Games Revealed – What to Expect Next in the Series
Following the success of Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 remake, there were a number of rumours about the next games to come to the series. Resident Evil 9 will be the next mainline game in the series, but other remakes are also expected.
Resident Evil 9 – The Highly Anticipated Sequel
As Resident Evil 1 through 4 have all received ground up remakes, completely changing the game for modern consoles, fans expected these to continue. While Resident Evil 5 and 6 are less popular than other entries in the series, people still expect remakes for these games to be released.
Exciting Remakes in the Works
Not only are Resident Evil 9, Resident Evil 5, and Resident Evil 6 apparently in the works, but a number of other Resident Evil games are also expected to be released. PlayAsia, an online storefront featuring games from various Asian countries and some Western ones, recently showcased four Resident Evil games.
The Lineup of Remakes
Among the featured games on PlayAsia, Resident Evil 9 stood out with previously unseen artwork, portraying shadowy figures resembling popular protagonists Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine. Additionally, a Resident Evil 5 remake and a remake of the fan favourite Code Veronica X were listed on the site, both showcasing original release artwork. PlayAsia also revealed a HD remaster for Resident Evil 0.
Release Dates and Speculations
While no release dates have been set for these games, their presence on PlayAsia indicates that significant progress is being made in their development. However, it’s essential to note that past games listed on the website were later canceled before release, so the appearance of these titles doesn’t guarantee their availability.
