The Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated actor will join The ConnersAccording to, Season 5 will be at an undetermined point. TVLine. But while we don’t know the WhenIt all is what we know. WhoMacy will play the role. He’ll show up at some point as a character named Smitty, who was one of Dan’s high school BFFs.
For one reason or another, Smitty makes a trip to Lanford, which puts him back in contact with Dan, but the fact that there aren’t any details about why he’s there makes me think it’s going to entail unfortunate circumstances. I meant,The ConnersSometimes, new characters are brought in to storylines that have positive storyline arcs. But more often, there is dark underpinnings. sometimes outright death. And a name like Smitty doesn’t automatically imply pizazz and good fortune, though the character’s class level may depend on how much facial hair Macy is rocking when filming kicks off.
William H. Macy is a well-known comedian who can pull off funny comedic roles and heartfelt dramatic moments. He also has the ability to create tension that will leave you begging for more. So here’s hoping The Conners showrunner Bruce Helford & Co. find ways to utilize those talents in full. Macy and Goodman could easily lead their own standalone series together, so I wouldn’t be mad if the entire ep was focused on Dan and Smitty reuniting.
Such reconnections can be described as “before”. Her big reunion with Ethan CutkoskyEmma Kenney was able to work with her in a small capacity ShamelessSeason 2 saw Noel Fisher as a co-star. He recurred across three episodes as Dan’s half-brother Ed, and it sounds like the writers wanted to give John Goodman another look back at his past through Macy’s Smitty. We should also mention that Showtime’s current star Katey Sagal was also a Showtime dramedy alum. She recurred in Season 9 as Dr. Ingrid Jones who believed Frank had given her sperm. As you might expect, I would have no complaints if Louise played an important role in Dan’s and Smitty’s arc.
Macy played Frank Gallagher in all 11 seasons of ShamelessSix of those seasons earned him Emmy nominations. He starred in Hulu’s true-scheme drama earlier this year. The DropoutAmanda Seyfried is a co-star. Maybe I WillIt also has Susan Sarandon Richard Gere, Diane Keaton, Emma Roberts and Diane Keaton.
