Inspired by ‘Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening’

The ‘Devil May Cry’ animated series, titled ‘Devil May Cry: Will,’ draws inspiration from the acclaimed game ‘Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening,’ released in 2005. This installment in the franchise revolves around a young Dante as he confronts a demonic invasion of Earth and faces off against his brother Vergil.

A Legacy of ‘Devil May Cry’ Anime

In 2007, ‘Devil May Cry’ was previously adapted into a 12-episode anime series. Produced by the renowned studio Madhouse (known for ‘Trigun’ and ‘One-Punch Man’) and directed by Shin Itagaki (‘Berserk’ 2016), this anime filled in the gaps between the events of the original ‘Devil May Cry’ and ‘Devil May Cry 2.’ It featured self-contained stories that showcased Dante’s adventures as a devil hunter for hire.
