In doing so, he revealed some of the details of conversations he had with the legendary forward. He has endured a disappointing season, his time in the club coming mostly from the bench.
Talking on his YouTube channel FIVE, Ferdinand said: “When I’ve spoken to him during this period of not playing… Obviously there’s an undertone of p***** off.
“But the calmness with ‘the chance will come and I score goals’, It’s plain and simple, the chance will come at some point.
“There’s no doubt in my mind he’s upset – of course he is but I think every professional who rates themselves and wants to play games week in, week out will have a divine right to be upset, that’s a given.
“But then it’s about what you do after and when you’re given the opportunity. You don’t go in and sulk. He’s the quickest one off the bench when he’s being asked to go on the pitch.”
Ronaldo was on the bench against Everton and scored the match-winner. He also reached 700 club career goals.
Ronaldo has only scored one goal in all of the games he has played. It was against Sheriff in the Europa League.
Although he has been second fiddle to Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, Ronaldo might be able to make a comeback after suffering an injury to the former.

Ronaldo’s Prem appearances this season have all been from the bench, except for one Premier League game, a loss to Brentford of 4-0.
Ronaldo will be playing against Omonia Nicosia in Thursday’s Prem match, so his place in the Prem team won’t likely be in the first xi.
Ferdinand added: “When he goes out there you can see there’s a hunger and desire to score goals. All this after scoring 699 club goals.
“This guy has got an obsession with beating the haters, ramming it down their throats. That 700 was to people like Jamie Carragher and people like that who are desperate to get him out of the door.”
Ronaldo was linked heavily to United’s transfer away over the summer. Fans have been hoping for a Lionel Messi/Ronaldo link-up now that Kylian Mbappe is in trouble.
