More than 2million Brits have tested positive for Covid-19 in one week, which is the highest level since July, figures indicate.
According to the latest data from ONS, Covid cases increased by 15% in the week ending October 10 compared to the previous week.
This comes as scientists warned of a so-called ‘swarm’ of Omicron strains that could threaten winter.
The infection survey data, however, is not up to par. Zoe Symptom trackerThis shows that cases are already falling.
According to the tracker, around one in 21 people in the UK have the bug – with numbers now also falling in the youngest age groups.
ZOE experts revealed that the current number of infections is currently estimated at 209,243, a drop from 235,829 last Wednesday.
