Cape Cod District Attorney’s Office indicts 14-year-old Cape Cod boy on “racially motived attempted It is a crime to murder anyone.“charges” were filed after an alleged attempt to drown a Black Child in waters near the popular Massachusetts tourist destination.

According to reports, the incident took place on Saturday 19th July at Chatham. Press releasefrom the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office obtained by Digital.

The release states that “the indicted juvenile, known by the court and the victim, a Black male juvenile, as well as a white male juvenile, all met at Goose Pond.” “Upon arrival, and after initial contact, the indicated juvenile picked up a stone, threatened the victim with it, and made the racially charged statement, ‘N****’ to the victim.”

According to a release, the trio went in the water shortly after.

According to the press release, the victim wore a life vest before getting into the water. He also stated that he was unable to swim.

The release states that “Once the defendant was in the water, he proceeded on to submerge the victim underwater and pull his life jacket 4-5 times. This caused the victim severe breathing difficulties.”

The release states that he “swam under the victim’s feet and then attempted to grab him.”

The release states that the third juvenile was “laughing at the victim”, and “referred the victim to ‘George Floyd.'”

A bystander rescued the victim after he began “yelling” for help on the shore.

The case was brought before the grand jury after the Chatham Police Department investigated the matter. They voted indictment on attempted murder charges and assaults with dangerous weapons.

We are not naming the defendant because he’s a juvenile and is still being held in jail without bail.

Barnstable Juvenile courts will next hear him on the 14th of September.
