California Robbers Won’t Be Stopped, Will Spread, Says Ex-Chief

An ex-police commissioner from Philadelphia predicted that mass robbery teams would spread across the country after their recent success in California retail attacks.

Charles Ramsey, the ex-Philadelphia commissioner, said there’s “no question”It is possible that this trend will be seen elsewhere.

“This is something now that I really unfortunately think is going to spread,”Ramsey spoke to CNN on Thursday. “Right now it’s in California, but it will spread, there’s no question about it.”

California’s Bay Area and Los Angeles have been particularly hard hit by the flash mob attacks in the last week. The latest happened Wednesday, at a Los Angeles-area Nordstrom. The store at the Westfield Topanga & The Village shopping center in Canoga Park was hit at about 7 p.m.

According to ABC7 and KCAL9 reports, at least five men entered the store, one in an orange wig. They stole seven to eight purses and then fled the scene.

A mob of five attacked a Nordstrom luxury store in Canoga Park, Calif. on Wednesday night. They stole approximately $20,000 worth merchandise.

A crowd of 80 people attacked a Nordstrom store in Walnut Creek earlier in the day, in San Francisco.

Newsweek reported that a Burberry store and Yves Saint Laurent outlet was also robbed on Friday.
