Arizona Hiker Falls to His Death while Snapping a Photograph

According to reports, an Arizona hiker died after falling 70000 feet while trying to take a photograph. CNN.The accident occurred at Lost Dutchmen State Park, about 40 miles away from Phoenix.

Richard Jacobson (21 years old) was hiking on the Flat Iron Trail when he tried to take a photograph. However, he fell, according to a friend who was with him.

According to the sheriff, Jacobson was found dead after the initial 911 call at 12.45 a.m.

Paul Blanco (Paul Jacob’s friend) said that Richard Jacob was involved with mission work in Utah, Washington.

“The only thing I can remember is kind of like my ears starting to ring,”Blanco shared his thoughts about Richard’s passing.

“Denial. Just like not being able to believe it.”

This is just one example of the many people who have died while taking photos while hiking.

A woman from Australia died in 2020 after she tried to take a selfie at Grampians National Park. In 2017, a 25-year-old hiker in Washington died while taking selfies with his girlfriend.

CNN reports that more than 250 people have died while trying to take selfies worldwide between 2011-2017.
