Andrew Garfield acknowledges that wearing Spider-Man’s suit has its downsides, but he is happy to have had one last chance to do so in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe. Garfield, in an exclusive interview with Looper in 2022 about the future of Spider-Man’s version in the MCU, said that in a philosophical sense all three versions of Spider-Man examined in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” will always exist.
I love what Jon Watts has done with “No Way Home.” Garfield said that Watts deserves a prize for merging all the different narratives of stories into one thing which felt creative, joyful, and fun. Each Peter’s Multiverse Story goes on. Tobey lives in Tobey’s universe. Tom’s universe will continue to exist while I live my own. It’s another matter if they are on screen, but either way they will be alive. They might do something else when we are in our 70s! It would be funny.”
