A Bud Light Lime A-Rita may have cost you money.

If you’ve graced your lips Enjoy the nostalgic taste of a Bud Light Lime-a-RitaYou could be eligible for compensation in a class-action suit. According to SF GateA federal lawsuit was filed against Anheuser-Busch’s parent company. It claimed that customers were misled about Ritas’ line of malt beverages, because real margaritas have tequila. Bud Light canned concoctions don’t.

“Nowhere on the packaging did [the plaintiff] see a disclaimer or any other statement indicating that the margarita product does not contain tequila, or that the product is just a flavored beer,”The complaint says. Anheuser-Busch admitted no wrongdoing, but agreed to settle for an undisclosed amount.

You could be eligible for cash if you bought any of the 112 Ritas qualifying products between January 2018 to July 2022. The maximum amount of compensation for affected households is $21.25 per household, and the receipt must be presented. The settlement will still allow the victim to receive $9.75 even if they don’t have proof that the purchase was made. This is more than enough money to purchase more Budweiser or Bud Light products.

Although it won’t erase your memory of drinking margaritas from cans, it does make you forget about it. This guarantees that Anheuser-Busch has assigned someone to check all cans for potential lawsuits.

The beverages are safe for consumption if you enjoy them. It is not clear how some people believe that malt beverages sold with beer will contain true spirits. Some states don’t allow both, so it was likely assumed that people knew the contents.

According to the settlement details, it was not. Although the lower alcohol content of 8% didn’t give away that it wasn’t a margarita, it did the job well.
