‘Throuple’ cut off from family for being ‘ungodly’ are now planning to have a baby together

A THROUPLE revealed they have been DISOWNED by their families for being in an ‘ungodly’ relationship but are now planning to get pregnant at the same time.

High school sweethearts Joel Forchue (24), and Mickey Pagan (22), met in Rhode Island in 2015.

They quickly took an interest in each other and started dating, staying together after high school and starting a life together.

Mickey had always known she was bisexual and Joel would joke around with her, saying he was going to have ‘five wives’ and ‘babies everywhere, of every nationality’.

Mickey finally called his bluff, and suggested that they find a girl.

Joel met Jaida, 22, on MeetMe in September 2020. MeetMe is an app that allows people to chat and meet new people.

She realized that they had similar interests and Mickey began to listen to them chat.

The couple waited for Jaida online to chat with her, and Jaida would also wait.

Jaida was asked by Mickey and Joel to be their girlfriend on November 16, 2020. Joel then got down on one knee to ask Mickey for her hand in marriage.

The trio says they are committed to each other and stay true to their intentions. This helps them overcome jealousy and reminds each other that neither one is more loved than the other.

When they have a moment of jealousy, they always reassure each other and make sure those thoughts don’t escalate.

But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing.

Jaida and Joel, despite their love for one other, have lost contact with their families due to their relationship.

Jaida’s mother no longer speaks to her and Jaida says she feels like she’s been disowned.

Joel’s mother also stopped talking to him, however he says the younger members of his family have been much more supportive.

Jaida said: “My family don’t agree with it, they say a man is supposed to be with one woman and there’s not supposed to be extra partners.

“I used to get really upset and hurt about it because I’m a big family person and there was a point where I was really depressed and unhappy about the situation.

“I still hope one day they’ll accept Joel and Mickey but I don’t see it moving in that direction.

“Sometimes my family will invite me to a party but tell me to come on my own and that I shouldn’t bring the people I love.”

The throuple say people tell them that they’re ‘going to hell’ or that they’re ‘ungodly’ but the trio hit back and say they go to church and pray before they eat, when they wake up and when they go to bed and feel incredibly close to God.

Micke said: “Being in a triad is like having two best friends and life partners instead of one.

“We’re never alone and there’s always someone else to talk to.

We don’t see our relationship any different and go through life just like everyone else.

“Thankfully my mum is very open and accepting, she says that she has four children now – she always used to call Joel her son and now she calls Jaida her daughter.

“I want people to know that we’re all lucky, not just Joel, me and Jaida are lucky too.

“People say we’re not godly because of our relationship but we’re incredibly close to God and try to be closer and closer every day.

“If one of us gets pregnant, Joel wants to get the other pregnant so we have kids at the same time and can go through the pregnancy together.

We haven’t got anything planned – but at the same time it’s kind of planned.”

The throuple say there’s no favouritism in the relationship and they all treat each other as equals.

Joel and Mickey don’t let the time they’ve spent together prior to meeting Jaida impact their relationship now.

Joel said: “People ask us for advice or a better understanding of a polyamorous relationship but the truth is we don’t know because we didn’t plan for this.

“The rude comments can be influenced by racism as well.

I get called a pimp or people tell me I’m a big daddy or a big man when really there’s three of us in the relationship.

“There is no handbook, all polyamorous and throuple relationships are different with different rules.

“It’s about what’s in front of you and living in the moment – we wanted something and we got it.

“Being in this relationship as a straight man, I’ve started to understand what people in the LGBT community go through.

“It helps me be more empathetic and talk to more people about it.”
