Miss USA 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel Reacts to Claims That Her Win Was “Rigged”

R’Bonney denied that her sponsor had flown her to Cancun as preferential treatment for Miss USA contestants. She said that she paid for the flight and made a promotional video as Miss Texas USA. R’Bonney also clarified that a viral photo of Miss USA presidentCrystle Stewartdoing her hair—which some people have been purporting as proof of collusion—was shotAftershe had won the pageant.

“Unfortunately, it looks like that happened maybe before I won,”She stated, “but that was my official Miss USA headshot photo shoot after I won.”

R’Bonney, despite the fact that her crowning achievement was questioned and criticized by some, is still holding her head high. “I’m very, very happy and thankful for my win,”She said. “As Miss USA, I’m just looking forward to advocating for what I love.”
