3 dead, 2 wounded in University of Virginia shooting: Police

The University of Virginia went into lock down Sunday as university police and other law enforcement agencies searched for a student suspected of killing three people and wounding two.

The shooting allegedly carried out by student Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. occurred around 10:30 p.m., according to a StatementJim Ryan, university president, was released on Monday morning.

With the search underway, Ryan canceled class on Monday, advising only essential employees to go to campus, located in Charlottesville, Virginia.
