If you thought there had to be an easier way to do your evening skin care routine, you might be wrong.
The skin cycling method has gone viral on TikTok but is supported by a dermatologist who’s been using it with patients for many years.
Whitney Bowe, MD created skin cycling as a four-day skincare regimen.
Dr Bowe is a New York City dermatologist who has been using Instagram and TikTok to promote healthy skincare tips since April 2021.
It’s simple to understand:
Dr Bowe observed many young women suffering from sensitive skin, and he came up with the idea.
Instead, Dr Bowe on TikTok says: “Less is more”When it comes to active ingredient.
“You will get the most out of the active ingredients in your skin-care products while minimizing irritation by building in those needed recovery nights,”Allure interviewed Dr Bowe.
These are the essential ingredients of a good skin care routine:
You can start the exfoliation process by using an exfoliant. This will help you to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores.
This will enable the active ingredients of your retinol product to perform even better on day 2.
You can then moisturize your skin by applying a moisturizer to your skin over the first two nights.
Face oil can be used on recovery nights to seal in moisture and reduce inflammation.
Remember that even though you will only use them twice a week, it may take your body some time to adjust to the chemical peel or retinol.
You can simply restart the cycle the day following your fourth day.
