Sugar substitutes have been claimed by manufacturers for years to be inert and have no effect on the human body.

A study done by the German National Cancer Centre revealed that adults who took sweeteners had a lower risk of developing cancer. “very distinct changes in the composition and function of gut microbes”.

Professor Eran Elinav is trying to raise awareness about the danger. “Drinking only water seems best.”
