Zendaya: Why She Knew Rue Would Survive Season 1’s Finale

Rue is shown to be alive following her season one finale relapse. For nearly an hour, she meets Ali (Colman Dominico), her NA sponsor. Ali spends his time trying to give wisdom to the teenager while also sharing details about himself and his struggles with addiction.

Schafer and another episode of the special series were released in January 2021. “Euphoria” showrunner Sam Levinson.

It is told from Jules’ point of view over the Christmas holiday. She recounts her story and how it was during a session she had with a therapist (played here by Lauren Weedman). Rue and Jules briefly reunite in the final episode.

These two episodes were not part season one or two and were intended to act as a bridge for viewers who were unable to watch the new season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I think it expanded upon not just Rue’s sobriety and Rue’s story of addiction and the beautiful work that was done by Colman in that episode, but also with Jules and giving greater insight into Jules’ side of the story, the “Spider-Man has no way home” star said.

“Often, Rue is the main narrator and — as she said — is not always reliable in that way,” Zendaya added. “This was very nice. It also provided us with comfort and understanding. Rue is always there for us. But, she still has a lot to do.”
