Your phone should always be charged before you board a flight. Otherwise, you could get banned

A PHONE is an indispensable piece of travel equipment for holiday travelers, especially with the advent of e-tickets/e-boarding passes.

However, if the charge is not paid, you may have to drop it off at the airport or get stopped from boarding your plane.

Your trip could be ended before it even begins if you don’t have access to your tickets or boarding pass.

Make sure that your phone is charged so it doesn’t get confiscated.

The following is an extract from the Website of the UK Government

If the battery is not charged or it’s unresponsive, security personnel can seize your phone.

The government website states that: “Make sure your electronic devices are charged before you travel. If your device does not switch on when requested, you will not be allowed to take it onto the aircraft.”

British Airways has this information on their website: “Airport security personnel may ask you turn on electronic or batteries-powered devices such as phones and tablets, ebooks, and laptops to prove their function.”

“If you’re not able to do this, you will not be able to take your device with you.”

The airline will warn you if it isn’t possible to turn it on.

He wrote: “Electronic devices with no charge – If you cannot turn on your devices when requested by security, they can confiscate it, placing your vacation contents in jeopardy.”

This advice is applicable to all electronic devices that cannot be turned on, including tablets and mobile phones.

You may also be prohibited from bringing certain items on board a flight.

There are also some foods that you can’t take through airport security.

Frequent flyers know that liquids are not allowed through security. But there are foods that are banned as they are liquids.

For example, pots of jam, hummus, syrups, honey and guacamole all have to be in 100ml or under containers – and they have to fit in that tiny plastic bag with your liquids.

Here’s what you shouldn’t bring on board a plane and what you should.
