The MCU is soon going to have X-Men

Marvel is widely expected that Marvel will feature several X-Men mutants during the next MCU Phase 4 movie. That’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessThis film promises to be more ambitious than its predecessor, Spider-Man, There’s No Way Home. Consider the experience we just had in There is no way homeIt is logical to see some Fox mutants in Doctor Strange 2. It’s not just excellent fan service, it’s also a celebration of the Marvel characters from the Fox universe. Because of the complexity of the continuity issues, we didn’t expect the Fox X-Men characters to be included in the MCU. As it stands now, the Foxverse of mutant stories doesn’t even really make sense.

It just so happens that there is a completely new way to do it. Doctor Strange 2A plot leak suggests an unexpected solution. Marvel could merge the MCU universe with the Fox universes, without really thinking about the logic. Now, we may be able to explain it all.

Before we move on, it is important to know the following: You might find some spoilers below..

The big Doctor Strange 2Leakage of X-Men and X-Men

Twitter featured many accounts Doctor Strange 2These plot details can seem unbelievable when you first read them. Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen), claims that she has eliminated all X-Men in the MCU. She apparently has UseThe “No More Mutants”The comics have spells.

Before you continue reading this post, please read the entire leak.

In Doctor Strange 2, she will supposedly reverse it, which means she would effectively bring the Fox X-Men to the MCU’s primary reality. According to a leak, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), will be able to recall the events while all other mutants will not.

These leaks could be accurate if they are. Doctor Strange 2 would fix the MCU’s big X-Men problem. The MCU might also see some of the Fox X-Men who are so beloved by the fans. I’m about to explain why it all makes sense, no matter how far-fetched it seems.

Why merging the MCU with Fox’s X-Men makes sense

These rumors sound crazy and we don’t have any way of verifying them. What if I said that Marvel already has all the pieces necessary to make this puzzle work.

Before we can get started, it is important to forget all about Fox X-Men continuity. Fox’s universe of mutant stories is incredibly complicated, and you’ll need pen and paper to figure out what happened and when.

Furthermore, there’s time travel in those X-Men stories and it contradicts the MCU’s rules for time travel. This includes Deadpool 2Time travel. But plenty of that can be retconned, and I’ll explain how Doctor Strange 2You can solve the mutant problem.

The WandaVisionPlan hole

One of the things I don’t like about WandaVision is that there’s no accountability for Wanda.

She’s in a great deal of pain after the tumultuous life she’s led, especially the last few years. Her grief led to a mental breakdown, which set her on the path to the dark side. Wanda is becoming the Scarlet Witch, but she’s still unstable. Perhaps she has redeemed her self by the WandaVision finale. But absolutely NobodyWanda was held responsible by the interveners.

What if someone did it? It wasn’t the Avengers or Doctor Strange. Someone else could’ve gotten to her before the Avengers: her fellow mutants. What if she was in the aftermath WandaVisionWanda made the famous statement: “No More Mutants”What is line/spell from comics?

Wanda’s rage and immense power might have made it possible for her to defeat a number of mutants who came after her during the weeks or months following the events at Westview.

The No Way Home spell

What would it look like?

Well, Spider-Man, There’s No Way HomeThis is the key to our answer. When Strange completes the spell at the end of the movie, everyone in the universe forgets Spider-Man’s identity. That doesn’t mean Spider-Man was absent from previous events, including fighting alongside the Avengers. It’s just that no one remembers who Spidey is. They forgot about their relationship with Peter Parker. Spider-Man was present in Civil War, Infinity WarAnd Endgame. But the others don’t know the person behind the mask.

What if Doctor Strange 2The same goes for the mutants. Better yet, the film will reverse Wanda “No More Mutants”A spell that could have occurred after WandaVision.

Wanda’s spell would be similar to Strange’s spell in No Way Home. Wanda would make sure that the mutants were forgotten about by the whole world. Wanda would also remove their powers. The X-Men would have been superheroes on Earth, alongside the Avengers. They would have fought Thanos together with the Avengers.

All of this would happen off-screen, which means we’d never see it happen. At least, for now.

Wanda could come to realize that she was wrong all along, and reverse this huge spell at the end. Doctor Strange 2. This would allow the X-Men to regain their powers and memories, and Marvel could retcon Fox and MCU movies to ensure that they all exist in the same reality.

One big Fox X-Men problem still

Let’s say the new leaks are accurate and that Marvel wants to use Wanda in Doctor Strange 2Add the Fox X-Men and the MCU.

Wanda’s spell doesn’t fix everything. There’s still a big problem that Marvel has to retcon. That’s the time travel problem from the Fox universe.

But there may be a way to fix it. Marvel could allow the Foxverse to play by the rules. EndgameA few changes to travel rules. The first is that the mutants create alternate timelines every time they travel back in time. They can’t alter the past or change the present. They just create a branch in the primary world, which evolves differently, as long as the TVA allows it.

In such a case, we’d have a bunch of realities resulting from Fox X-Men time travel, including the main timeline where the X-Men exist. This would be the main MCU reality. Obviously, in this MCU timeline, Jean Grey doesn’t die. The timeline in which Logan (Hugh Jackman), dies may not reflect the primary MCU reality.

The Deadpool predicament

The real problem with travel is in the present. Deadpool 2, a movie that includes X-Men cameos that shouldn’t even be there. Maybe Wade imagining the events. Deadpool 2? Maybe none of it was real.

This is all to say that Marvel has a way for Fox to be incorporated into the MCU timeline. Maybe that’s the real purpose of Doctor Strange 2… to bring some of the Fox X-Men we love into the MCU.

Wanda could combine timelines into one reality, where the Fox X-Men as well as Avengers live together. This would be simpler, but it would also make things more boring.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres on May 6th, at which point we’ll know what Marvel chose to do with its mutants.
