{"id":91685,"date":"2022-04-02T15:08:55","date_gmt":"2022-04-02T09:38:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centralrecorder.com\/the-jimmys-swap-places-in-tonight-show-jimmy-kimmel-live-april-fool\/"},"modified":"2022-04-02T15:10:07","modified_gmt":"2022-04-02T09:40:07","slug":"jimmy-kimmel-live-april-fools-day-the-jimmys-swap-places","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/centralrecorder.com\/jimmy-kimmel-live-april-fools-day-the-jimmys-swap-places\/","title":{"rendered":"Jimmy Kimmel Live April Fools Day &#8211; The Jimmys Swap places"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div>\n<p>Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon have had to deal with similar names hosting shows.<\/p>\n<p>Now the late-night hosts have teamed up for an epic April Fool\u2019s prank that will see Kimmel hosting <em>The Tonight Show<\/em>Fallon hosting <em>Jimmy Kimmel Live.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Kimmel will be in New York hosting the NBC show and Fallon will be in Hollywood hosting the ABC show \u2013 a surprise to both the in-studio audiences and viewers watching at home.<\/p>\n<p>Other surprises are expected, while the Red Hot Chili Peppers, whose new album, Unlimited Love \u2013 the band\u2019s first with guitarist John Frusciante in 16 years \u2013 is out today, are the musical guests on both shows.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight\u2019s host swap builds on the guest switcheroo Fallon and Kimmel pulled off last November when Will Ferrell showed up in Reynolds\u2019 stead on <em>Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em> while Ryan Reynolds took Ferrell\u2019s slot on <em>The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It highlights the camaraderie between the late-night hosts, who historically have enjoyed the same level of friendship (see the battle between Jay Leno and David Letterman and Jay Leno and Conan O\u2019Brien).<\/p>\n<p>Kimmel made a joke about his late-night battles by making pizza over last year. The comedian slammed the former SNL star for his attempt to make his own pizza, declaring Fallon\u2019s use of a rolling \u201coutrageous\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The pair have been in their own ratings battle for the last year or two with Kimmel coming out on top last season for the first time in his show\u2019s history.
