That almost led to disaster for one Texas\u00a0family after they say their smoke alarms didn\u2019t go off during a house fire.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla and Nathan Dahl were both in recovery from COVID-19, when their 2-year old son Brandon woke them up at 4:30 AM. They couldn&#8217;t smell any, but Brandon, their 2-year-old son, could.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Their house was set ablaze by the distinctive smell of thick smoke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was just kind of tapping me saying &#8216;mama,&#8217; then repeating, &#8216;mama hot.&#8217; And I got up and all I saw were flames coming towards our bedroom door,\u201d Kayla said.<\/p>\n<p>The little boy\u2019s warning came just in time.<\/p>\n<p>The Dahls brought their five children along and all survived.
